AI Project Manager self-install

After checkout you get a thank-you page and email with your private Hermes handoff.
Do not share the handoff publicly. It contains your unique pm_live_... license token.

The simple path

  1. Open Terminal on your Mac.
  2. Copy the recommended Hermes handoff from the thank-you page or purchase email.
  3. Paste it into Terminal.
  4. Press Return.
  5. Let Hermes install the pack.
  6. Answer Hermes setup questions in normal language.
You do not need to edit the command. You do not need to learn the CLI. The command exists only to hand the install to Hermes once.

What Hermes does during setup

Hermes will:
  • install the pack runtime,
  • install the skill,
  • verify the license,
  • create/preserve the local project ledger,
  • start guided onboarding,
  • ask one setup question at a time,
  • configure a safe work surface if one is already available,
  • keep local safe mode if no external channel exists,
  • open the board.

First project smoke test

After setup, send this to Hermes: 
Use the AI Project Manager to run a first-project test.
Create a project called “Beta Test Project.”
Add a task called “Write first status update” for Aaron, due 2026-05-01.
Add a task called “Confirm board opens” for Aaron, due 2026-05-01.
Review approvals, dispatch approved work, open the board, and give me the digest.

If Hermes says a work surface is missing

That is okay. The pack still works in local safe mode. To use external chasing, connect a Hermes messaging channel first, then ask: 
Use the AI Project Manager to use the best available work surface. If none is connected, keep local safe mode on.

If Terminal says hermes is not found

Use the direct installer fallback from your purchase email, then open Hermes and say: 
Use the AI Project Manager to finish setup. Ask me one question at a time.
