# Introduction

> BossMode is the command layer that turns your AI agents into a company. One install. Your business runs while you sleep.

## What is BossMode?

BossMode is an autonomous business automation platform for solo founders and small teams. It ships a **consigliere** — an AI second-in-command that reads your standing orders, routes work to the right agent, and reports back with receipts.

You are the boss. The consigliere handles the floor.

## Two ways to think about it

## The hierarchy

BossMode uses a mafia-style hierarchy to organize autonomous work. These are product internals — the metaphor is how you remember them, but they're the actual role names in the app:

| `boss`           | You. Sets strategy, reviews approvals, defines standing orders. |
| `consigliere`    | The AI second. Reads orders, routes work, escalates decisions.  |
| `ceo`            | Strategic briefing engine. Morning report author.               |
| `capo_marketing` | Audience, traffic, conversion.                                  |
| `capo_product`   | Build backlog, release decisions.                               |
| `capo_revenue`   | Deal moves, pricing, offers.                                    |
| `capo_ops`       | Execution, delivery, logistics.                                 |
